Projects, People & Progress

Overview

As part of a year-long student project at CODE University, I led a cross-functional team in developing a digital receipt solution aimed at reducing paper waste and streamlining post-purchase experiences for consumers and retailers. The idea stemmed from a growing awareness of environmental concerns and the lack of seamless, user-friendly alternatives to physical receipts. Our mission was to create a scalable, privacy-conscious product that integrated easily into existing POS systems while adding real value to both shoppers and businesses.

Approach & My Role

In my role as Lead Product Manager, I was responsible for setting the product vision, aligning the team around a clear roadmap, and ensuring our decisions were grounded in real user needs.

  • 2020: I led market and customer research, conducting interviews and surveys to identify pain points, and performed a detailed competitor analysis to uncover market gaps.

  • 2021: I shifted focus to business development and strategy, defining our value proposition, mapping out potential revenue models, and testing our pitch with external partners. I also took on sales and outreach, connecting with retailers to validate use cases and gain early feedback.

The project taught me a great deal about product lifecycle ownership — from user research and stakeholder alignment to go-to-market thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

Overview

Over a two-month period, I supported LOOMS—an emerging online platform focused on contemporary, culturally-relevant wellbeing—with research to inform both strategic content development and digital product positioning. LOOMS aims to redefine how wellbeing is explored and expressed, especially for individuals navigating modern life across diverse cultures, careers, and creative paths. My work was centered around understanding how to shape an inclusive, inspiring content platform for a global, purpose-driven audience.

Approach & Role

Strategic Audience Research & Survey Design
I designed a qualitative research plan and in-depth survey to uncover how users define wellbeing in a post-COVID, constantly shifting world. The research focused on creative thinkers and culturally-aware individuals—people seeking deeper meaning, community, and inspiration beyond mainstream self-help content.

  • Crafted 30+ open-ended questions for a global focus group, exploring personal definitions of wellbeing, unmet needs, content preferences, and cultural nuances.

  • Reflected on my own experiences and those of my peers to include generational, cross-gender, and cross-cultural relevance.

  • Benchmarked similar platforms (e.g., Well+Good) to identify gaps in voice, accessibility, and visual storytelling.

Content Platform Tools Research
In parallel, I evaluated user-friendly, visually rich CMS tools for LOOMS’ early-stage launch. The focus was on affordability and design-forward platforms suited to creative editorial teams.

  • Researched and compared 7+ tools including Webflow, Squarespace, Cargo, Ghost, and Readymag.

  • Created a breakdown of pros and cons for each tool, focusing on ease of use, customization, design flexibility, and scalability for content-first teams.

  • Delivered recommendations aligned with LOOMS’ aesthetic and functional vision, while keeping budget and team capacity in mind.

Overview

In the ever-evolving landscape of higher education, understanding the student journey is essential. In Summer 2021, while working part-time with CODE University’s Development Team, I led a research initiative to better understand the student experience across cohorts. Prompted by recurring concerns voiced on Slack and at Townhalls—from learning unit availability to the challenges of remote study—I launched the Student Semester Planning Survey (SSPS) to map student goals, needs, and frustrations.

Through an iterative research process combining in-depth interviews and survey analysis, the project uncovered critical insights: over half of respondents felt overwhelmed in their first semester, with many calling for more academic guidance. The findings not only highlighted systemic issues around self-directed learning, onboarding inconsistency, and community support—but also provided the University with actionable data to inform planning, resource allocation, and student services. The research directly supported the formation of CODE’s first-ever Student Experience Team, marking a shift toward a more student-centered approach in institutional development.

Approach & My Role

As a Student Researcher & Insights Analyst within CODE University’s Development Team (Summer 2021), I initiated and led a strategic research project focused on surfacing student needs and experiences to inform university planning. I co-designed and distributed the Student Semester Planning Survey (SSPS) to gather quantitative and qualitative insights across four student generations. My approach blended data collection with storytelling, ensuring that individual student voices were not lost in aggregated statistics.

I conducted 51 semi-structured interviews and analysed 291 survey responses using mixed-method research practices. These included persona segmentation, thematic analysis, and contextual inquiry to understand blockers in academic progression, onboarding quality, remote learning, and general wellbeing. The insights were translated into accessible formats for CODE’s Leadership Circle, sparking actionable conversations that contributed to the founding of the Student Experience Team.
